Role Title : Corporate Executive Assistant
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary range: £38,324 - £42,406 per annum
We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Corporate Executive Assistant to provide exceptional support to the Chief Executive, administrative assistance to the council’s Monitoring Officer, and play a pivotal role coordinating with the wider Corporate Management Team. This role requires a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and can act as the trusted right-hand to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
• Expertly manage complex scheduling and diary coordination for the Chief Executive, ensuring seamless appointment, travel, and meeting arrangements.
• Provide comprehensive email and communications management, handling key correspondence with efficiently and discretion.
• Organise and facilitate high-level meetings, including preparing agendas, managing follow-up actions, and ensuring the accurate recording of decisions.
• Serve as a liaison for the Corporate Management Team, ensuring smooth communication and coordination across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Deliver high-quality administrative support, with a sharp focus on detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Anticipate the needs of the Chief Executive, proactively addressing potential issues and ensuring smooth, operational support at all times.
What we are looking for:
To excel in this role, you must be a detail-oriented, strategic thinker who excels under pressure. You will have a proven track record as an Executive Assistant at board level, demonstrating an ability to build strong and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organisation and beyond.
• Proven experience: You must have significant executive support experience at board or executive level within a complex organisational structure. Experience in local government or a public sector environment would be an advantage.
• Organisational skills: You will be highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, complex workloads, and tight deadlines while maintaining a calm, professional approach.
• Communication expertise: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to act as a trusted ambassador for the Chief Executive, and confidently manage relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Problem-solving: A proactive and analytical thinker, capable of anticipating challenges, solving problems independently, and using sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
• Adaptability: You will need to be flexible, resilient, and comfortable with shifting priorities in a dynamic working environment.
