The Department:-
The Housing Department was restructured in 2017 in preparation for the introduction of the new Homelessness Reduction Act in April 2018. There are two operational teams, The Housing Solutions Team, which this role sits within and The Housing Property Team. We recently achieved the NPSS Bronze Award and is striving to improve further.
The Role:-
The Housing Solutions Officer will be responsible for the start of a client’s journey when they approach us for; Housing Advice, to make a Homeless Application, or to apply to join the Housing Register. The post holder will also be responsible for carrying out the administrative processes involved with Choice Based Lettings.
The Housing Solutions Officer will look at applications and liaise with the parties involved to ensure a full picture of the client’s situation is produced. They will update systems, find alternative housing solutions, run the Choice Based Lettings process, make appointments and generally advise clients about the most appropriate routes through the service.
What we are looking for:-
• You will be passionate about housing and customer service
• Have good communication skills and negotiation/persuasion skills
• Basic understanding of housing and homeless legislation and code of guidance

Salary Range: £26,379 - £28,639 inclusive of LWF.
