The Role:
As the first point of contact for customers visiting or calling the council, Customer Service Advisors play a vital role in presenting a professional, positive image of the organisation. You will handle a wide variety of enquiries and service requests relating to council services, delivering excellent customer service across multiple channels including telephone, face-to-face, email, social media, and web access.
Using a range of IT systems, you’ll provide accurate information, resolve queries and complaints, and manage various transactions efficiently. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and a high level of customer care.
What we're looking for:
We’re looking for someone with a strong customer focus and a friendly, helpful, and professional manner. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to absorb and interpret complex information to resolve issues effectively. Proficiency in Windows-based IT systems is essential, as are strong listening and problem-solving skills.
A key part of the role is encouraging customers to use our digital services, so confidence in promoting online solutions is important. Experience in a busy, multi-service customer service environment is desirable, and you’ll need to be flexible and responsive to the diverse needs of our customers. Teamwork is crucial in this role, and you must be committed to supporting your colleagues and contributing
positively to team success. Most importantly, you must be someone who leaves a positive impression on every customer, taking ownership of each enquiry and seeing it through to a prompt and satisfactory resolution.
This is a hybrid role, so you’ll be required to work both in the office and from home.
