Contract: Full Time, 2 year Fixed Term Contract

The Role:- The post holder will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support within the Development Management service, including Planning, Local Land Charges, Building Control, Planning Enforcement and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

What we are looking for:- The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of the processes and legislation relating to planning and building control applications; Have the ability to read and interpret plans, be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. Have the ability to deal with and respond to the needs of a diverse range of internal and external customers. Work as an effective team member with the ability to work towards and achieve team goals and outcomes. Be able to multi-task, deal with changing priorities or workload and meet deadlines. To have an incisive and practical approach to problem solving including the ability to know when to make a decision individually and when to seek assistance. Experience of following office procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency within a performance focused environment. Have experience of explaining complex processes to customers not familiar with the subject matter. To acquire knowledge and skills keep up to date with changes to legislation. To have a high level of computer literacy as, regular use of Microsoft office suite including outlook, word and excel and detailed working knowledge of uniform, total land charges, Exacom and GIS.
