Are you organised, approachable, and passionate about public service? We’re looking for a friendly and proactive individual to join our Electoral Services department in a dynamic job share role. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-profile area of local government where your work directly supports the democratic process.

The Role:-
As the first point of contact for members of the public, you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service—whether it’s face-to-face, over the phone, by post, or via email. Your work will help ensure the smooth running of elections and the accuracy of the electoral register, making a real difference in the community.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Collaborating with your job share colleague to provide seamless administrative support.
• Handling public enquiries with professionalism and care.
• Processing registration documents to maintain a precise and up-to-date electoral register.
• Supporting the Elections Team to meet statutory deadlines with high-quality, accurate work.
• Assisting in the preparation and delivery of elections, referendums, and the annual canvass.
• Embracing new technologies and ways of working to improve service delivery.

What we are looking for:-
• A keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
• Confident communication and ICT abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting to change.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure to meet statutory deadlines.

Working Arrangements:
This is a job share and your contracted hours will be 22 hours per week and contracted days of employment Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We offer flexible working options, including some remote work. However, during key periods such as elections and the annual canvass, you’ll need to be office-based and ready to work extended hours when required. You must also be able to accept restrictions on leave. These times can be intense, but they’re also incredibly rewarding.

Closing Date: 5th September 2025
