As a Principal Planning Officer you will pro-actively lead on a number key project within a vibrant urban Authority seeking to deliver economic and housing growth through innovative and good quality development. This work will be undertaken alongside a small, friendly and supportive team.

There is an exceptional variety of work and opportunity to contribute to the development of the town. This includes using a digital model of the town to inform the delivery of high quality tall buildings in the right places, and the delivery of homes and jobs within the boroughs regeneration areas.

In the past two years the Council have successfully negotiated high quality schemes to deliver over 1,000 homes, 50,000m² of commercial space, a new school and station improvements. Including a number of mixed use developments incorporating tall buildings.

These have only been a small part of the identified regeneration projects and the role will provide the ability to work on a range of interesting projects alongside a small and supportive team.
The role is based in the Town Centre with excellent access to public transport (the Metropolitan Line, London Overground and mainline trains) and numerous facilities including parks, leisure and retail centres. What we are looking for:-
You should be eligible for membership of the RTPI with suitable planning experience. You must have strong design skills, be excellent communicators with the ability to write clear and concise reports. Above all, you must be able to demonstrate a drive to be pro-active in how you approach the role and that you will make a positive difference to the area.
