Having recently launched our bold and ambitious Council Plan 2020-24, Watford Borough Council are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its newly formed Enterprise Programme Management Office, initially on an 18 month fixed term contract. We have a number of exciting projects which require robust project management, predominantly in our Parks, Heritage and Culture service, working on projects in the award winning Cassiobury Park and to help deliver our ambition to revitalise the River Colne, a Thames tributary which flows across the town. Other projects will see you working to maintain the green flag standards in other local parks and to improve our popular playgrounds as well as contributing to our Covid-19 Road to Renewal plan.
As such, you will be used to working at a senior level on complex projects and will be a PRINCE2 Practitioner who has the ability to work simultaneously across a number of diverse and high profile projects,. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects run to time and to budget, liaising with internal services and external stakeholders to drive projects forward and ensuring ongoing buy-in.
Reporting into the Head of Enterprise Programme Management Office, you will understand the importance of a clear governance structure and will be able to present concise updates to Project Boards and other stakeholders, including elected Members, through regular and accurate highlight reporting and verbal updates. You will be well practiced in risk, issue and benefit management and understand the technical management of these, including completing and maintaining the appropriate logs and associated project management documentation, such as Project Initiation Documents.
